When reflecting on 2022, I think the word of the year for Walnut and Twine was "slow." Honestly, there were days when every single aspect of the project felt like trying to move through quicksand. By the second half of 2022, my bucket of optimism was bone dry.
I hate to admit it, but at one point, I had completely fallen out of love with this beautiful building and all its quirks. However, by the end of the year, progress became visible, and it's incredible how much optimism an inch of progress can generate!
The facade, the deck, the drywall, the paint... everything finally started to come together! Then in the last week of December, I received this photo of the new floor, and all at once, my bucket of optimism was full again.
Of course, there will still be plenty of bumps, but each day brings a dash of progress and a lot of hope.
I feel like it's (almost) safe to say, "Walnut and Twine To-Go will open this spring!"
